The Thorny Devil Australia’s Spiky Lizard

There are many types of chameleons and lizards famous for changing color, but Australia’s "Thorny Devil" is truly unique. Australia is already known for its strange animals, and this lizard is found in its desert regions.
• Appearance: Though small (about 20 cm long including the tail), it looks like a tiny, fierce dinosaur covered in thorns. Usually the color of desert sand, it can change its color when needed.
• The "False Head": It has a large hump on its back that looks like a second head. This is used to trick predators. If an animal attacks, the Thorny Devil hides its real head between its legs. The predator attacks the hump thinking it is the head, gets hurt by the spikes, and the lizard escapes.
• Survival: The Thorny Devil eats small insects like ants and has a long tongue. Besides changing color, it can also puff itself up with air to look larger and ward off enemies.
