GOD HELPS THOSE WHO HELP OTHERS!

In a beautiful village named Ishwarpura, there lived two friends, Ramu and Shyamu.

Ramu was an obedient and hardworking boy. He always helped the villagers with their daily tasks. On the other hand, Shyamu was lazy and disliked hard work. Whenever someone in the village asked for help, he refused and even mocked them.

Ramu and Shyamu studied in the same class. Ramu always completed his homework on time, while Shyamu would make Ramu do his homework in the name of friendship.

One day, after school, the two friends went to a sugarcane field. There, Ramu found a beautiful and colorful earthen pot. He looked around but saw no one nearby. Excitedly, he showed it to Shyamu.

“Look, Shyamu! How beautiful this pot is!” said Ramu.

“Oh! I don’t like it,” replied Shyamu carelessly.

Suddenly, an old man appeared.

“Oh, my child Ramu, is that you? I have seen you helping all the villagers. You may take that pot home. Be happy, my child!” said the old man kindly.

“Wow! Thank you so much, Dadaji!” said Ramu gratefully, and he took the pot home.

A few days later, something unfortunate happened. A herd of cows entered Ramu’s family’s crop field and destroyed everything. Not a single crop was left. The family was heartbroken.

“What will we eat now? We only have a little grain left,” cried Ramu’s mother.

She asked Ramu to check the grains they had stored safely. Ramu had kept those grains in the earthen pot he had received from the old man.

The next morning, Ramu’s mother was astonished. The earthen pot was full of grains!

She woke Ramu up and asked, “Ramu! How did we get so much grain? We had only a small amount left!”

“I don’t know, Maa! I only put the little grain we had into the pot. I don’t know how this happened,” Ramu replied honestly.

From that day on, the pot never became empty. No matter how much grain they took out, it was always full the next morning. Ramu’s family was overjoyed. They had enough food for the entire year.

Ramu shared this secret with his friend Shyamu.

When Shyamu heard about the magical pot, he became greedy. He wanted it for himself.

One afternoon, when Ramu’s family was busy working in the fields, Shyamu quietly went to Ramu’s house and took the earthen pot without permission.

He had a strange idea. He put ten-rupee coins into the pot, thinking the money would double by the next day.

The next morning, when he woke up, the pot was gone!

He asked his mother, but she had no idea about it.

Shyamu ran straight to the sugarcane field where they had first found the pot. But there was nothing there. He searched everywhere and looked for the old man who had given the pot to Ramu.

Just then, a man passing by asked him, “What are you doing here?”

“Kaka, have you seen an old man here? Do you know where he lives?” asked Shyamu anxiously.

“Beta, no one lives here. There is no old man in this area. Now stop wandering around and go to school,” the man replied.

Shyamu stood there confused and worried. He had lost all his money and the magical pot too.

Meanwhile, Ramu’s family continued to receive grains every day, and they never faced hunger again.

Shyamu could not understand what had happened. He kept thinking,

“Who was that old man?”

Perhaps he was no ordinary man—maybe he was sent by God to bless the one who always helped others.
