N o one ever imagined they would actually set foot there. By "there," I mean The Haunted House. Even I wouldn't be scared to go in, but honestly, why take the risk? Besides, it was rumored that the house held four mysterious myths. Calling themselves myth BUSTERS, Aarav, Karthik, Rohan, and Vivaan decided they would prove their bravery by entering on Friday the 13th of July. They wanted to show the world they weren't afraid of ghosts.
As they entered the house on that dark and chilly night, they encountered the first myth almost immediately. The legend of the Rotating Statue claimed that the statue would spin whenever anyone got close. But as they inspected it, they realized it rotated only because of the vibrations from their footsteps. In their notebook, they proudly wrote: "Myth 1 busted."
They moved deeper into the shadows, searching for the second myth-one that was a bit scarier. The tale said that a man could be seen running down the corridor at night. Sure enough, a shadowy figure suddenly dashed by, sending chills down their spines. However, on closer look, it turned out to be just a regular person. "Myth 2 busted," they noted.
The third myth was about a window that banged shut all by itself. Karthik felt truly spooked this time, especially since the man they'd seen earlier had already left the house, so it couldn't have been him. When they carefully approached the window, they saw it was tied with ropes. After checking further, they discovered the same man was behind it again. "Myth 3 busted," their record book read.
They explored the whole eerie house but just couldn't find any trace of the fourth myth. Tired, they decided to leave. Before heading out, Aarav suggested they take a selfie to remember their daring adventure. Feeling sleepy, they didn't bother to check the picture right away.
The next day at school, everyone was buzzing about the haunted house. Rohan pointed out that they still hadn't figured out the fourth myth. Suddenly, Vivaan apologized, "Sorry I couldn't come yesterday! I caught a fever." The others were confused by what he meant, but class was starting, and they returned to their seats.
After school, Rohan finally checked their selfie. To his astonishment, only three friends showed up in the photo: himself, Karthik, and Aarav. There was no trace of Vivaan. The fourth myth was true-the legend claimed that one friend would mysteriously disappear!
