The Talking Tree .

- "Saying sorry is good. But fixing what you broke is better."
Yatri Shah
I n a small village, there lived a boy named Kabir. He was bright, friendly, but at the same time careless, especially with what did not belong to him.
One morning, when playing cricket with his friends, Kabir hit the ball so hard that it flew straight into the oldest tree of the village. The branch snapped, and leaves scattered everywhere.
"Let's just run," his friends said. "It's just a tree."
Kabir agreed and hurried home.
But that night, he had a strange dream.
Before him stood the old tree, tall, glowing, and… speaking.
"Kabir," it whispered gently, "when you're hot I give you shade, when it rains I give you shelter, and air to breathe. And when I wanted tending, you walked away."
Kabir's heart began to sink.
"I-I'm sorry," he whispered.
The tree smiled.
"Saying sorry is good. But fixing what you broke is better."
Kabir woke up with a start. The dream seemed to be so real that he ran to the tree next morning.
He gathered sticks, tied cloth, supported the broken branch, watered the roots, and cleaned the area. Seeing him work alone and sweating under the sun, the villagers joined him.
In a few weeks, the branch healed. New leaves appeared.
The village elder laid a hand on Kabir's shoulder and said, "You taught us all an important lesson today." Kabir smiled as he remembered the words of the tree.
