THE EXAM EXPERIENCE: A Funny Tale

Popcorn, Panic & Paper Power

Dhairya Mihir Patel

I was eating popcorn,

watching a movie one night,

When suddenly I realized—not studying for exams wasn’t right.

Motivation had pushed me into fifth gear,

But the moment I opened my book,

I shifted to reverse gear.

The exam was coming nearer and nearer,

While inside, my fear grew clearer and clearer.

It wasn’t the heap of books that gave me fright,

It was my cozy sleep winning every fight.

I opened the book after sleeping five long hours,

Yet still I felt sleepy—dreaming of movies, food, and fast cars.

There’s something special about the night before exams,

It’s a battle between sleep and syllabus plans.

With shaky legs, I entered the exam hall,

Almost certain I was heading for a fall.

I whispered to myself, “All the best, my boy!”

Then the question paper arrived—and I jumped with joy!

Because I had listened carefully in class,

The paper felt easy—like pulling out grass.

This time, luck and God were surely my cure,

But will that work every time? I wasn’t so sure.

For now, it’s not the moment to worry or pray—

It’s time to relax, celebrate, and play!
