Floating Windmills in the Sea of Scotland

A windmill is a source of generating electricity from wind. A large amount of electricity can be obtained through numerous windmills. Such wind farms are found in many countries on land, but floating windmills in the sea off Peterhead, Scotland, provide electricity to approximately 20,000 coastal homes. This wind farm in Scotland has five windmills. Each is 830 feet tall, with 256 feet of its base below the water surface. One windmill provides six megawatts of power. If this power is not used, it is stored in giant lithium batteries. These floating windmills are kept upright by 111-ton anchors attached to the bottom. The span of the anchor is 16 feet. The windmills remain floating upright in the sea water.
