The police investigation into the fake personal assistant (PA) case has revealed that Rajesh Jadav, the fake PA of the minister of state Purshottam Solanki, has duped several others in the past.

Jadav had a complaint filed against him in several police stations across Junagadh, including fraud in the name of marriage in A division, scamming of ₹4.75 lakh on the false promise of getting a job in C division, duping a woman of ₹18.5 lakh over the false promise of getting a job for her son, and arranging financial aid for the kin of a COVID-19 victim in Manavadar.

A special investigation team (SIT) has been formed by Harshad Mehta, the investigating superintendent of police (SP),. The SIT includes BC Thakkar, the deputy superintendent of police (DySP) of Keshod, and TR Bhatt,  police inspector, Manavadar circle.

This team will probe into the accused’s bank transactions and properties. As per the SP, the police is currently working to seize the accused’s bank accounts.

Over the last few months, Gujarat’s repertoire has been tarnished with cases of fake commodities, offices, officials or even toll booths, coming to light. 

The latest entrant is the case of  fake personal assistants (PA) of a central minister, a minister of state, and a home minister of the state that have been nabbed in a week from Gujarat. This has added another blot to the state machinery.

Harsh Sanghavi’s fake PA nabbed

Varun Patel, a fake PA of Gujarat’s home minister, Harsh Sanghavi, was recently nabbed from Vadodara.

Vadodara traffic police had stopped a car at the city’s Golden Circle, in which three youths including Varun, alongside Pinakin and Aakash Patel, were held in an inebriated state.

The three then resorted to physical assault against the traffic police over their detention.

Not only this, they even chased the traffic police who were trying to escape the assault.

Harni police showed up at the scene to rescue the traffic police officers and nabbed the three over this incident. Following this, one of the accused, Patel, threatened the police officers with taking away their jobs and transferring them under the pretence of being PA to minister Harsh Sanghavi.

The police has initiated a further probe into this case.

Fake central minister’s PA nabbed from Amreli

A few days back, an individual named Bhavesh Goyani was nabbed from Amreli who posed as the PA of Parshottam Rupala, the minister for animal husbandry, dairying, and fisheries.

Goyani used to get his work done and asserted dominance over people under the pretence of being a close aide of the minister.

He was nabbed over a case of threatening a trustee of an NGO, who registered a complaint in this case.

Another such incident emerged from Junagadh, where a Mendarda resident, Rajesh Jadav, posed as the PA of the minister of state, Purshottam Solanki.

He even installed a signboard reading ‘MLA’ on his car. On top of that, he had printed bogus visiting cards with the bogus position.

Jadav also used to get his work done and get money from people by presenting this fake identity. He duped a man of ₹5 lakh by falsely promising him a government job, for which a complaint has also been registered.
