In cold weather or when strong winds are blowing, the cold air dries out the skin on our lips. The lips become dry, and the skin starts to peel.
When we smile or eat, our lips stretch. This stretching causes the dry skin to crack or split open.
When their lips are chapped, most people tend to lick them. You should not lick your lips or wet them with saliva (spit). Doing this actually makes the lips even drier and more chapped.
Instead, when your lips are chapped or cracked, you should apply milk cream (malai) or Vaseline.
