- એક વાર્તા... બે ભાષામાં!

ચાં દની ચોક નામના એક મોટા અને ધમધમતા શહેરમાં, જેની સાંકડી ગલીઓ ઘોંઘાટ, રંગો અને લોકોથી ભરેલી હતી. અહીં અંશ નામનો એક છોકરો રહેતો હતો. અંશ એક ખુશમિજાજ અને સરળ છોકરો હતો. તે પૈસા, મોભો કે દેખાવ વિશે બહુ ચિંતા કરતો નહોતો. તે દયા, ન્યાય અને દરેક સાથે સમાન વર્તન કરવામાં માનતો હતો.
અંશ ટૂંક સમયમાં કોલેજ જવા માટે રવાના થવાનો હતો. આગામી પરીક્ષાઓ, પ્રોજેક્ટ્સ અને ભવિષ્યની યોજનાઓના દબાણને કારણે તે તણાવ અનુભવી રહ્યો હતો. આ બધી ખેંચતાણમાં, તે સાવ ભૂલી જ ગયો કે તેનો જન્મદિવસ નજીક આવી રહ્યો હતો. પરંતુ તેના માટે કંઈક ખાસ આયોજન કરવામાં આવી રહ્યું હતું.
તેના જન્મદિવસના થોડા દિવસો પહેલા, અંશે તેના પિતાને કહ્યું, 'પપ્પા, પ્લીઝ મારા જન્મદિવસની પાર્ટી માટે આપણા બધા સંબંધીઓ અને મારા નજીકના મિત્રોને આમંત્રણ આપજો. કોલેજ જતાં પહેલાં મારે દરેકને મળવું છે.' તેના પિતા હસ્યા અને શાંતિથી માથું હલાવ્યું.
અંશના જન્મદિવસની સાંજે, તે આખો દિવસ અભ્યાસ કરીને થાકેલો ઘરે પાછો ફર્યો. જેવો તેણે ઘરમાં પ્રવેશ કર્યો, તેણે કંઈક વિચિત્ર જોયું. લાઈટો બંધ હતી. તે કંઈ સમજે તે પહેલાં જ, તેની પાછળનો દરવાજો અચાનક બંધ થઈ ગયો અને ધબાક! 'હેપ્પી બર્થડે!' બધાએ સાથે મળીને બૂમ પાડી.
લાઈટો ચાલુ થઈ ગઈ, બધે જ ફુગ્ગાઓ હતા, અને ઓરડો હાસ્ય અને આનંદથી ભરાઈ ગયો. તે ક્ષણે, અંશ તેનો બધો તણાવ, ચિંતા અને ડર ભૂલી ગયો. તેનું હૃદય ખુશીઓથી ભરાઈ ગયું. પાર્ટી ચાલતી હતી ત્યારે અંશે ધ્યાનથી આસપાસ જોયું. તેણે નોંધ્યું કે માત્ર થોડા જ સંબંધીઓ અને મિત્રો હાજર હતા. તેને કુતૂહલ થયું.
તેણે શાંતિથી તેના પિતાને એક બાજુ બોલાવ્યા અને પૂછયું, 'પપ્પા, મેં તમને આપણા બધા સંબંધીઓ અને મિત્રોને આમંત્રિત કરવા કહ્યું હતું. અહીં કેમ માત્ર થોડા જ લોકો છે?' તેના પિતાએ તેની સામે જોયું અને કહ્યું, 'મેં દરેકને આમંત્રણ તો આપ્યું હતું, પરંતુ એક અલગ કારણસર.'
અંશને આશ્ચર્ય થયું. 'કયા કારણસર, પપ્પા?' તેણે પૂછયું. પિતાએ જવાબ આપ્યો, 'મેં દરેકને કહ્યું કે આપણે કેટલીક આથક સમસ્યાઓનો સામનો કરી રહ્યા છીએ અને આપણને મદદની જરૂર છે. મેં કહ્યું કે જે કોઈ ખરેખર અમને ટેકો આપવા માંગતા હોય તેમણે રાત્રે ૮ વાગ્યે અમારા ઘરે આવવું.'
અંશ મૂંઝવણમાં હતો અને થોડો ઉદાસ થયો. 'પણ પપ્પા, તમે આવું કેમ કર્યું?' તેણે પૂછયું. પિતાએ અંશના ખભા પર હાથ મૂક્યો અને કહ્યું, 'મારી વાત ધ્યાનથી સાંભળ, મારા ભોળિયા દીકરા. જે લોકો આજે આવ્યા છે તે એ લોકો છે જેઓ ખરેખર આપણી પરવા કરે છે. તેઓ પાર્ટી કરવા, જમવા કે મોજ-મજા માટે નથી આવ્યા. તેઓ આવ્યા છે કારણ કે તેઓ મુશ્કેલ સમયમાં આપણને મદદ કરવા તૈયાર હતા. આ જ આપણા સાચા સંબંધીઓ અને સાચા મિત્રો છે.'
બરાબર ત્યારે જ, અંશની માતા, જે શાંતિથી સાંભળી રહી હતી, તે આગળ આવી. 'બેટા,' તેણે પ્રેમપૂર્વક કહ્યું, 'તું ખૂબ જ શુદ્ધ હૃદયનો છે. એટલા માટે જ આવા વિચારો તારા મનમાં ન આવ્યા. આ દુનિયા ભૌતિકવાદી છે. દરેક વ્યક્તિ જે તારી સાથે હસે છે, તે મુશ્કેલ સમયમાં તારી સાથે ઊભી રહેતી નથી.'
તેણે આગળ કહ્યું, 'જીવનમાં તું ઘણા લોકોને મળીશ. કેટલાક ફક્ત સારા સમયમાં જ ત્યાં હશે. ખૂબ ઓછા લોકો ખરાબ સમયમાં તારી સાથે ઊભા રહેશે. આજે, તું તફાવત પારખતા શીખ્યો.'
અંશ એક ક્ષણ માટે મૌન ઊભો રહ્યો. તે આખરે સમજી ગયો કે તેના માતા-પિતા તેને શું શીખવવાનો પ્રયાસ કરી રહ્યા હતા. ભીની આંખો અને ભરેલા હૃદય સાથે, એ માતા-પિતાને ભેટી પડયો. તે જન્મદિવસે તેને માત્ર ખુશી જ નહીં, સમજણ પણ આપી હતી.
REAL THING
“In life, you will meet many people. Some will be there only in good times.”
I n a big, busy town called Chandni Chowk, with its narrow galiyas full of noise, colours, and people, lived a boy named Ansh. Ansh was a happy and simple boy. He did not worry much about money, status, or showing off. He believed in kindness, fairness, and treating everyone equally.
Ansh was about to leave for college soon. Because of the pressure of upcoming exams, projects, and future plans, he was feeling stressed. In all this tension, he completely forgot that his birthday was approaching.
But something special was being planned for him.
A few days before his birthday, Ansh told his father, "Papa, please invite all my relatives and my close friends for my birthday party. I want to meet everyone before I go to college."
His father smiled and nodded quietly.
On Ansh's birthday evening, he returned home tired after a long day of studies. As soon as he entered the house, he noticed something strange-the lights were off. Before he could understand anything, the door suddenly closed behind him and-
BANG!
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" everyone shouted together.
The lights came on, balloons were everywhere, and the room was filled with laughter and joy. At that moment, Ansh forgot all his stress, worries, and fears. His heart was full of happiness.
As the party continued, Ansh looked around carefully. He noticed that only a few relatives and friends were present. This made him curious.
He quietly called his father aside and asked,
"Papa, I asked you to invite all my relatives and friends. Why are only a few people here?"
His father looked at him calmly and said,
"I did invite everyone-but for a different reason."
Ansh was surprised.
"What reason, Papa?" he asked.
His father replied gently,
"I told everyone that we are facing some financial problems and that we need help. I said that anyone who truly wishes to support us should come to our house at 8 o'clock."
Ansh was confused and a little upset.
"But Papa, why did you do this?" he asked softly.
His father placed a hand on Ansh's shoulder and said,
"Please listen carefully, my innocent child. The people who came today are the ones who truly care for us. They didn't come for the party, the food, or fun. They came because they were ready to help us in a difficult time. These are our real relatives and real friends."
Just then, Ansh's mother, who had been listening quietly, stepped forward.
"Beta," she said kindly, "you are very pure-hearted. That is why these thoughts didn't come to your mind. The world is a material place. Not everyone who smiles with you stands with you when times are hard."
She continued,
"In life, you will meet many people. Some will be there only in good times. Very few will stand by you in bad times. Today, you learned how to tell the difference."
Ansh stood silently for a moment. He finally understood what his parents were trying to teach him. With moist eyes and a full heart, he hugged his mother and father tightly.
That birthday did not just give him happiness-it gave him wisdom.
