- "We are flying!" Rahul gasped. The cloud of cotton candy took them around the city, giving them a beautiful view of other children playing football, badminton, and walking their dogs.
T he best time of the year had arrived for Leela and Harish- summer vacation! Of course, they both had different desires to spend their vacation- while Leela liked playing cricket with her girls' gang, Harish liked taking his mini piano to the park and playing amidst nature. However, one thing they could both agree on was ice cream!
Every year, on the first of May, a mysterious man named Mr Sprinkles appeared in their city, pushing around a nice retro trolley with ice-cream doodles, dressed like an old man even though he looked like he was in his early twenties. Mr Sprinkles had weird ice-cream flavours, and there was no specific place or time he would be at.
He also tendedto disappear and appear out of nowhere. But Mr Sprinkles had always been their favourite ice-cream seller.
"Hello, kids," he spoke in his loud, cheerful voice, as he pushed the cart through the park where Leela was playing cricket and Harish was playing his piano. All the kids looked up and immediately ran to get a scoop of the delicious ice cream.
Harish looked at the menu that consisted of Rocket Pop, Minty Mystery, Rainbow Ripple, Strawberry Stardust, Caramel Chaos, Cotton Candy Cloud, and many more!
Harish asked for a Vanilla Voyage, Leela took a Cotton Candy Cloud, Sita asked for Caramel Chaos, and Rahul asked for Rocket Pop.
Mr Sprinkles handed them their ice-cream and just as they were about to pay, Mr Sprinkles disappeared into thin air!
"That's kinda sus, though," Sita spoke in the new Gen-Z language she'd learned.
"Not gonna lie, not gonna lie," Leela replied, doing a hairflip she'd seen a model do online.
They finished their ice-creams and threw the wrappers into the dustbin, and just as they were about to go back to their games, a boat appeared in front of them with wooden oars.
"Whoa…" Harish gasped. The thing was that the boat looked as though it was floating on the land! Harish sat down, and so did his friends. Leela and Harish began to use the oars, and magically the boat began to move on the land! They began singing, Rahul took over for Harish as he played his piano along with them, and the best part was that no one was noticing them. It was as if they were invisible!
"Can I play too?" Sita asked Harish, who remembered that his teacher had taught him that sharing was a valuable part of friendship. So, he handed her his piano. But just as she pressed the first key, sticky goo began to flow from her fingers, gluing the keys together.
"My keyboard!" Harish cried, devastated at the state of his beloved instrument.
"I am so sorry," Sita apologized sincerely, but her hand touched the boat, and coincidentally, so did the oar and boom- the oar was glued up to the boat, unmoving even as the children collectively tried to pull it off. "What now?" Rahul asked.
"I don't-" Leela started, but instead of words, pink clouds made of cotton candy escaped her mouth! "Wow, this is magical!" More clouds came out, surrounding the boat and lifting it up in the sky.
"We are flying!" Rahul gasped. "Indeed, we are!" The cloud of cotton candy took them around the city, giving them a beautiful view of other children playing football, badminton, and walking their dogs.
They rode around the entire city for the next hour, but then, the cloud disappeared, and they began to fall!
They started to scream, and just then, Rahul's superpower was activated! He began to zoom in the sky like a mini rocket. He held the boat and pushed it around using all his strength, bringing them all safely to the ground just as the boat disappeared.
"That was the most adventure I have ever had in my entire life!" Harish exclaimed.
"Your entire life? You're like ten years old!" Leela said teasingly.
"So? Flying in a boat on a cloud is enough adventure to last anyone a lifetime!"
The others agreed. That was when Sita noticed that the caramel sticking to Harish's piano had disappeared. They all cheered in joy, and Harish began to play a suitable happy melody for the mood.
In the distance, they saw Mr Sprinkles standing there, smiling at them. He gave them a small wave before disappearing in a puff of smoke.
Leela and Harish intended to scour the whole city throughout the rest of their vacation to find Mr Sprinkles again and try the other magical ice-cream flavours!
