- Rohan teased him, "Why did you waste money on that man? He might just be pretending. We could have had a nice dessert with that money."

Payal Shah : In the small town of Gorakhpur lived two close friends, Adi and Rohan. Both in their early twenties, they loved exploring their town and the nature around it.

One cold winter afternoon, while strolling by the riverbank, they noticed an old man sitting by the side. His clothes were torn, he looked exhausted, and he shivered in the chill. Holding a dirty bowl, he was asking for food or money.

Rohan ignored him, but Adi stopped. Without thinking twice, Adi pulled out a Rs. 100 note, placed it in the man's bowl, and gave him a warm smile. The old man's eyes lit up with joy as he blessed him wholeheartedly.

Later, Rohan teased him, "Why did you waste money on that man? He might just be pretending. We could have had a nice dessert with that money." Adi calmly replied, "Maybe he was faking, maybe not. But in his eyes, I saw gratitude. That gave me peace. So I did what I felt right."

Later, they went to a small restaurant for tea and biscuits. As they finished, Rohan offered to pay the bill, saying, "You already lost money today." But when he reached for his pocket, his face fell-his wallet was missing.

Adi quietly paid the bill. Just then, the restaurant owner approached Adi and handed him a warm food packet filled with his favorite samosas. He said, "Son, I saw your kindness to that old man. Young boys usually only think of themselves. Take this as my gift to you."

At first, Adi hesitated, but eventually accepted it with a smile. On the way home, Rohan sighed, "You were right. While I was selfish and lost everything, your kindness brought you more than what you gave."

Adi smiled gently and said, "Life always has its own way of teaching us lessons."

Moral

When you clutch too tightly to what is yours, you may lose it. But when you give with kindness, life finds a way to give back in unexpected blessings.
