Why do our eyes close when we hear a loud bang?

Sometimes, when a big firecracker explodes nearby or a heavy object crashes, our eyes close as soon as we hear the sound. That is, our eyelids blink. Do you know why this happens?
The reason is that whenever any such sound is caught by the eardrum, it vibrates continuously. These vibrations pass through the bones inside the ear and reach the nerves. Furthermore, they reach the brain through the nerves. This means that when these vibrations reach the brain, the brain recognizes them.
While the brain is busy managing the entire body’s systems, a sudden shock from such a terrible vibration causes the "fuses" of the nerves to blow. Therefore, if there is sudden excessive tension on the nerves, the nerves release their connections. As the nerve endings disconnect, control over the body's muscles is lost. For this reason, all muscles go limp. When the sound of a sudden explosion is heard by the ear, a terrible vibration reaches the brain. That is why the eyelids close immediately.
