Gir - The Lion Safari

H i, I'm Jaini! We were supposed to reach Gir in the morning if we drove overnight - and guess what? We did do night driving and arrived in Gir bright and early!

Day 1

We first saw our resort and then checked into our villas. After some rest, we had breakfast - idli-sambar, bread-butter, and tea. Yum!

Then it was playtime - we enjoyed cricket, children's rides, and had a splash in the swimming pool! After that, it was bath time.

Lunch was delicious: paneer bhurji, roti, my favorite shrikhand, and buttermilk. Later, we went to buy safari tickets.

For dinner, we had Manchurian, pasta, noodles, and dal rice. After that, we visited a relative of my mami and even went on a night safari before returning to the resort to sleep.

Day 2

Early in the morning, it was time for the real safari! We saw lions, deer, owls, and more.

Then we returned to the resort for breakfast - poha, bread-butter, and tea again. After packing up, we had lunch at a hotel and said goodbye to everyone.

By dinner time, we were home - eating Pav Bhaji and ready for sweet dreams!

Junagadh Welcome to the Zoo

H ey there, champs! My name is Harshal, and I'm in the 8th standard. This vacation, we went to Junagadh, a city full of history and wildlife. From my grandmother's village Visavadar, my family and I headed to Junagadh on 11th May, a Sunday.

Before heading to the zoo, we visited Willingdon Dam. After a short trek, we reached the dam, and the fresh air and breathtaking views left us feeling rejuvenated. I even climbed some rocks before heading to our main destination-the Sakkarbag Zoo.

We first entered the bird department and saw many beautiful species like pelicans, white peacocks, flamingos, and foreign parrots. Their sounds were so intriguing! Next, we visited the animal section and saw wild cats, jackals, leopards, tigers, and lions. There were also exotic animals that we don't typically see in our country. Afterward, we explored the aquatic animals-crocodiles, tortoises, and hippopotamuses-before heading to the snake department where we saw cobras and other poisonous snakes.

The highlight of the day was a safari ride in the Gir forest, where we saw animals in their natural habitat. It was a thrilling experience.

Afterward, we enjoyed a meal at the canteen, wrapping up a fun-filled day. It was a wonderful experience, and I had a blast spending time with my family.

Statue of Unity Here We Go!

H i, I'm Efa from Ahmedabad. Let me tell you about my great summer vacation! This summer, I visited the world's largest statue - the Statue of Unity. It was an awesome experience - the smooth drive and beautiful scenery made the 3-hour journey feel like a breeze!

Once we reached Kevadia, we stayed in a tent house - such a unique and memorable experience! After some rest, we explored the Nutrition Park, where we learned about healthy eating and nutrition in a fun way.

Then finally… the moment came! We reached the Statue of Unity, dedicated to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

It's so huge, it made me feel really tiny. From the top, the view was amazing - I saw the Narmada River and a gorgeous landscape. The statue is 182 meters tall (that's 597 feet!).

Did you know? It was inaugurated by our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi!

I felt so happy spending this time with my family. Can't wait for another adventure next summer!
