- "Only one cure may work now. A rare medicine combined with fresh orange juice. It's her only hope."

- Ravi Ila Bhatt

D evnagar is the quiet village near the Border of Rajasthan. There is an Ashram of one revered saint, wise and calm, surrounded by a few devoted disciples. Among them were Raghu and Nathu who often helped around the ashram with domestic work. Both are living there and often used to visit their native places.

One morning, Raghu approached the saint, folded his hands respectfully, and said,

"Guruji, my sister Mishti's wedding is in a month. We are simple people, but I want to make my sister's wedding special. I seek your blessings to visit my family for fifteen days and help them prepare. If you could join us, it would bring joy beyond measure for my family."

The saint replied warmly,

"My son, I will surely send you. Weather I will attend or not that will bie decided later on. "

In the days that followed, Raghu subtly hinted at their financial troubles, hoping the saint would help. But the saint remained silent. Finally, the day of departure arrived.

"Guruji, I will leave tomorrow morning," Raghu said again with hopeful eyes while completing evening rituals of the ashram.

"Alright, my son, God blesses you, your sister and all your family members" said the saint.

The very next morning, as Raghu prepared to leave for the home with Nathu, the saint called him aside. He handed him a bag full of ripe, oranges.

"Take these with you" the saint said. "May the wedding of your sister be so grand that it is remembered in Rajnagar and beyond. Go, fulfil your duty, and return peacefully."

Raghu bowed, with disappointment stirred in his heart as Guru did not give any financial help.

As they walked away, Raghu said softly to Nathu,

"Guruji was aware about my condition. Still, he did nothing and only gave us some fruit. Not even a single Gold or Silver coin."

Nathu shrugged, "Maybe he knows what we don't and maybe he sees something what we do not." Let's have faith."

After two days of journeying under the blazing sun, they arrived in their barren village Rajnagar. Parents greeted them with worry in their eyes. The wedding was near, but there was little mone.

Meanwhile, in the royal palace of King Jaypal, a great storm had fallen-the beloved Princess Maya, had fallen gravely ill. The royal physician tried every remedy but failed and finally advised,

"Only one cure may work now. A rare medicine combined with fresh orange juice. It's her only hope."

The king immediately ordered,

"Announce throughout kingdom-whoever has fresh oranges shall be richly rewarded!"

A town crier rang a bell through the market streets and announced,

"If anyone has oranges, come to the palace! The princess's life depends on it! King will richly awarded the person."

Raghu heard the call. His eyes widened.

He rushed to the palace. The oranges were accepted, juiced, and mixed with the medicine. Within hours, Princess Maya began to recover. Her fever broke, and her smile returned. She recovered within two days.

King Jaypal met the Raghu personally. He asked Raghu about oranges and marriage of her sister.

"Then I shall take responsibility for Mishti's wedding. She shall be married like a princess!" - said King.

The palace was decorated and marriage was held at palace. Tailors, jewelers, and musicians filled the village. The wedding was held in royal style-elephants, floral canopies, and golden lights. Guests received gifts of gold and silver. Raghu's brother-in-laws family was granted a large house, land, and a lifetime of prosperity.

When the celebration ended, and they returned to the ashram, Raghu bowed deeply before the saint.

"Guruji, forgive me. I doubted you. You gave us far greater than money."

The saint smiled, his eyes twinkling.

Moral

A true saint doesn't give what we want-he gives what we need.
