Foxes are known as intelligent but cunning animals, and there are many types of them. Most foxes are about the size of a dog with bushy tails. However, the Fennec Fox, found in the Sahara and African deserts, is only about one foot long and weighs just one kilogram.
Its most unique features are its 4 to 5-inch long ears and large eyes, which make it look different from other foxes. Because the desert is very hot during the day and very cold at night, the Fennec Fox has thick fur on its body. These animals are social and live in groups, which means they can even be tamed. They hunt small animals like mice and squirrels. A Fennec Fox can jump two feet high, live for a long time without water, and lives in burrows dug into the ground.
