The World's Smallest Fox: Fennec Fox

The fox, known as an intelligent but cunning animal, comes in many varieties. Foxes, which have bushy tails with dense fur, are generally the size of a dog. The Fennec Fox, found in the Sahara and African deserts, is only one foot long and weighs one kilogram. A special feature of this small animal is its four to five-inch-long ears. Its large eyes make it look different from other foxes.

The Fennec Fox, living in desert regions with very hot days and very cold nights, has a body covered in thick fur. This animal lives in groups and is social, so it can be domesticated. It hunts small animals like mice and squirrels. The Fennec can jump up to two feet high and can survive for a long time without water. The Fennec Fox lives in burrows in the ground.
