The Invisible Wings .

- Kailash Zinzala

I n a quiet town hidden between mountains and morning mist, there lived a boy named Aarav. He never spoke a single word-not because he couldn't, but because he chose silence.

People whispered that he was strange, lonely, or broken.

But Aarav held a secret.

He could see something magical-

tiny, shimmering wings on people's backs.

Not real wings, but wings of the soul.

Some were bright and wide.

Some were torn and drooping.

Some were so faint they almost disappeared.

Aarav understood what they meant.

People with glowing wings were kind, creative, and loving.

But anger, jealousy, cruelty, and sadness made wings crumble or fade away.

So Aarav made it his mission-quietly, patiently-

to fix the broken wings of the people around him.

He left kind notes for the baker who cried at night.

He returned a lost sketchbook to the girl who had stopped drawing.

He helped the angry old man carry heavy water pots, even when the man shouted at him.

Aarav's hands spoke what his mouth never did:

"You matter. I see you."

And slowly… unbelievably…

the villagers' wings began to heal.

One day, a terrible storm struck the town.

Trees fell, the river roared, and people panicked.

During the chaos, a small child slipped and was swept away by the rushing river.

Without a moment's hesitation, Aarav leapt into the water.

The current was fierce. The villagers ran toward the riverbank-

and then froze.

Behind Aarav, something began to glow.

Wings.

Not imagined.

Not invisible.

But real-huge, radiant wings of golden light.

With one final push, Aarav reached the child and pulled her safely to the shore.

The villagers stood speechless.

For the first time in his life, Aarav finally spoke.

His voice was soft, but it carried through the storm:

"We all have wings…

we just forget how to use them."

From that day on, the town changed.

People became gentler.

Kinder.

More awake to one another's hearts.

They still tell the story of the boy who never spoke-

until the day he reminded everyone how to fly.

Moral

Every soul has invisible wings-

wings of kindness, courage, love, and strength.

Sometimes all it takes is one gentle heart to remind us that those wings are still there.
