The Inventor of the Aqualung Diving Suit: Jacques Cousteau

- વિશ્વના વૈજ્ઞાનીઓ

To dive deep into the sea, you need to wear a special suit. At the bottom, there's immense water pressure. Also, to stay for a long time, you need to breathe. For divers to research deep in the ocean or at the bottom, they have special breathing equipment so they can stay underwater longer. This equipment, called the Aqualung, looks like a gas cylinder. Oxygen for breathing comes through tubes from this cylinder, which is tied to the diver's back. This invention was made by Jacques Cousteau from France.

Cousteau was born on June 11, 1910, in the city of Saint-André, Germany. After studying in Paris, he joined the Navy. He was injured in an accident, became disabled, and his career ended. But he didn't lose hope and became interested in exploring the deep sea. Cousteau was a man of many talents: a writer, scientist, environmentalist, and photographer. During the Second World War, sea travel and exploration became very important.

Cousteau made the first underwater film. In 1954, he invented the Aqualung and scuba gear. He also built a submarine-like device that could go 350 meters deep into the sea. Cousteau loved studying sea creatures. He set up an organization to protect marine life. He traveled around the world and made many documentary films. He passed away on June 25, 1997.
