The Boastful Frog .

- The fox said, 'Wow, Grandpa Frog! What a jump! Can you jump even higher than that?'
O nce there was a fox. It went wandering through the jungle and came near a pond. There, it saw a big frog. There were also many tiny frogs hopping around.
The big frog saw the fox and quickly told the little frogs, 'Look out! That tricky Fox is coming! everyone stay in the water! Don't go near the edge!'
The little frogs listened and dove underwater.
The fox sat near the edge of the pond and thought, 'If I could catch these little frogs, I'd have a feast. But this big frog keeps them away from the edge. I need a trick.'
Just then, a clever crow flew by.
Now, a crow is even trickier than a fox. The fox explained the plan, and together they came up with a clever trap.
They decided to flatter the big frog.
The crow hid up in a tree branch while the frog leapt near the pond.
The fox said, 'Wow, Grandpa Frog! What a jump! Can you jump even higher than that?'
The frog replied, 'That was a small jump! I can jump even higher!'
The fox grinned, 'Oh, I doubt it. No one can jump higher than that.'
The frog, proud and puffed up, said, 'Why not? I can easily do better!'
The fox laughed, 'Alright, let?s see you try!'
The frog gave a big leap.
The fox clapped and praised him, 'Amazing! But I still don?t think you can do better than that.'
The frog puffed up even more. 'Of course I can!'
The fox said, 'If you manage it, you're truly the greatest!'
The frog shouted, 'Then watch me!'
He leapt higher than before, climbing up a little bank outside the pond.
At that moment, the crow swooped down, grabbed the frog in its claws, and flew away.
The little frogs were left alone in the water.
The fox laughed and said, 'Now, little froggies! You can come out.'
But the frogs replied, 'No! Our Grandpa Frog told us not to!'
The fox said, 'Oh, but he's right here at the edge! we're friends now! One of you come check!'
The crow had killed the big frog and placed him at the edge of the pond.
One small frog came out.
The fox said, 'See? Your grandpa is sitting right here. You come too? it'll be fun!'
The little frog came near the edge.
The fox grabbed it.
And just like that, one by one, the fox caught all the little frogs.
The crow and the fox were very pleased.
The fox said, 'Crow Uncle, did you see that? When someone brags too much and loves to be praised, they can easily be fooled. That's why it's better to stay kind and careful than to show off.'
The crow and the fox laughed and walked away. Grandpa Frog - the boastful one - was gone.
