The Big Play : Sameer and Rohan’s Vision

- "Are you serious? You don't delete the billion-dollar idea just because your laptop is basic! You break the code into modules. You run it in pieces. You use cloud computing."

- Ravi Ila Bhatt

Sameer and Rohan had been best friends since kindergarten. Now, between coaching classes for boards and cricket practice, they hardly had time to hang out. One Saturday, they decided to ditch the stress and spend the day at a Co-working Tech Hub that had a "Creator’s Lab"—a place where you could build apps, edit videos, or just brainstorm the next big startup idea.

They brought their laptops, high-end mics, and plenty of snacks. The plan? To spend the day "fishing" for a viral content idea for their new YouTube channel.

Within an hour, Sameer struck gold. He brainstormed a brilliant concept for a tech-review series that was unique and high-effort. "Bro, this is it!" Sameer cheered. He immediately started drafting the script and even landed a small sponsorship inquiry from a local gadget store. He was thinking big—national level.

He looked over at Rohan. Rohan was a genius coder, but he seemed stuck. Finally, Rohan’s screen lit up. He had just developed a complex AI algorithm that could automate video editing—something worth millions.

But then, Rohan clicked "Move to Trash."

Sameer froze. "Wait, did you just delete that? That was insane, Rohan!"

Rohan shrugged, looking frustrated. "Yeah, it was too big, man. My current laptop only has 8GB of RAM and a basic processor. I don't have the 'big setup' to run or test an algorithm like that. I’m just looking for a small, basic script that won't crash my computer. God is really testing me today."

Sameer stared at him, genuinely confused. "Are you serious? You don't delete the billion-dollar idea just because your laptop is basic! You break the code into modules. You run it in pieces. You use cloud computing. You find a way to make the big idea fit your current tools until you can afford better ones!"

Sameer’s advice was simple: Don't throw away a "Big Fish" opportunity just because your "Pan" (your current situation) is small.

A lot of us do exactly what Rohan did:

We get a chance to lead a school project, but we say "no" because we’ve never done it before.

We have a talent for music, but we don't practice because we don't own a "pro" guitar yet.

We get a huge internship offer, but we're scared to take it because we think we aren't "professional" enough yet.

Moral

Don’t reject big opportunities just because they don’t fit your current capacity. Upgrade your skills. Adjust your mindset. Cut the fish into pieces if needed.
