It’s a strange and scary feeling to suddenly forget your own name. That’s exactly what happened to a boy named Rohan.

One morning, Rohan woke up, looked in the mirror, and froze. “Who is this boy?” he whispered. He recognized the face, but his name—gone! He tried and tried to remember, but nothing came.

He scanned his room. Books were piled on a wooden table. A cricket bat rested against the wall beside a red season ball. A big photo of him hung nearby. He opened his cupboard—there was a school uniform with a name clip... but it had fallen off.

Feeling nervous, he ran to the kitchen where a kind woman was cooking. She smiled warmly, “Good morning, beta.”

Rohan stared. Was she his mother? He nervously replied, “Mommy...?” hoping he was right.

She laughed. “Of course—who else?”

At the dining table, a small girl came up to him with her homework. “Bhaiya, can you help me?”

Still confused, he nodded. “Yes,” he said, even though he had no idea who she was.

His mother brought him coffee, biscuits, and breakfast. After eating, she handed him his school bag and ID card.

That’s when everything changed.

He looked at the card:

Rohan Mehta – Class 8B

That’s my name! he thought with relief.

At school, things felt just as strange. Everyone knew him. Friends talked about cricket and school projects. Teachers smiled. Slowly, memories started coming back—his friends, his teacher, even his bus number.

By the end of the day, he had remembered nearly half of everything. Over the next few days, his memory returned completely.

From that day on, Rohan made a new habit. Every morning, he wakes up, looks into the mirror and says, “Good morning, Rohan.”

But one mystery still lingers:

Was it all just a dream?

Or did something strange and magical really happen that morning?

No one knows. Not even Rohan.
