Sheth Vikram and the Midnight Miracle

- Ravi Ila Bhatt

Sheth Vikram was a super-duper rich man. He had a house as big as a palace, a swimming pool shaped like a fish, and shiny cars in every color. But on this night, inside his huge, soft bed, Sheth Vikram had a big problem: He couldn't sleep!

His head was buzzing like a grumpy bee. He walked and walked through his giant halls. He drank milk. He counted his golden watches. Nothing worked! A tiny, dark, black cloud of worry was stuck right above his head.

Finally, at 3 o'clock in the cold, quiet night, Vikram got into his fancy, roaring silver car. "I need peace," he mumbled. "I need to talk to someone strong."

As he drove through the sleeping city, a beautiful Mandir (temple) appeared, glowing softly in the dark. Bling! The light seemed to pull him inside.

Vikram tiptoed into the Mandir. Everything was silent, except for a tiny sound—someone was crying!

In the front, sitting right by the idol of Bhagwan, was a man named Gopal. Gopal’s face was so sad it looked like a crumpled piece of paper that had been left out in the rain.

"Gopal-bhai," Sheth Vikram whispered, "Why are you here at this hour? Your sorrow looks like a mountain."

Gopal looked up, his eyes swimming with tears. "Seth-ji, my Priya (wife) is very, very sick in the hospital. She needs an important surgery by sunrise, or... or she won't make it. And I have zero rupees for the doctor."

Sheth Vikram’s heart felt a sudden WHOOSH of warmth. He didn’t think. He didn't count. He pulled out his giant leather wallet and scooped out a mountain of crunchy, colorful rupees—every single note he had!

He pushed the huge pile of money into Gopal’s hands. "Take it, brother! Go quickly! Your Priya will be fine!"

Gopal’s face instantly changed. The crumpled paper smoothed out, and his smile became as bright and warm as a sunflower opening up in the morning sun.

Vikram, feeling lighter than a feather, gave Gopal his fancy, gold business card. "This has my number. If you need anything else, anything at all, please call me!"

Gopal took the card, looked at it, and then gently gave it back.

"Thank you, Seth-ji," Gopal said, holding the money close. "But I already have the BEST contact address."

Vikram was amazed. "Whose address, brother? You just told me you had no one!"

Gopal pointed a finger up towards the idol, his face full of shining faith.

"The Boss," Gopal whispered. "The Boss who couldn't sleep either. The Boss who woke you up at 3 AM just to send you here to me."

Sheth Vikram finally understood. That night, the rich man got his peace, and the poor man got his miracle. When your faith is unshakable, Bhagwan always sends help—even if it arrives in a silver car at 3 o'clock in the morning!

Moral: In short, the story shows that when you focus on what you can give (like Vikram) and what you truly believe (like Gopal), life's greatest miracles can happen, often in the most surprising places and at the most unexpected times.
