Parrots of Agartala .

- "If there is one more, it means a friend from another city has come to visit a parrot here. If there is one less, it means a local parrot has gone to visit a friend in another city".
Mivaan Paria
K ing Manu wanted to test his minister, Manav, who was as witty as Birbal. He asked the court, "How many total parrots are there in Agartala?" While everyone else was confused, Manav was smiling. He told the King he knew the answer.
The King asked for the answer, and Manav replied, "It's exactly 3,542". The King warned that if there was even one more or one less, Manav would be punished. Manav explained calmly: "If there is one more, it means a friend from another city has come to visit a parrot here. If there is one less, it means a local parrot has gone to visit a friend in another city". The King laughed and admitted Manav was right once again.
Moral:
Wit and cleverness can solve even the trickiest questions.
