Detective Jack in Spain .

- Shaivi Shah
"L ife is short. Live it to the fullest," is what most people say.
But what can be done if the sole purpose of life is to serve others?
That's exactly what Detective Jack's life was devoted to. Or so he said. His house was often found locked, the iron gate collecting rust from months of not being touched. Whenever he returned, he claimed he had been on highly important, top-secret missions for his detective agency. The agency's name cannot be disclosed due to privacy reasons, so let's just call it Agency W.
But the big question remained-was Jack really working, or was he just enjoying vacations? Everyone was curious.
Recently, Jack returned from one of his longest disappearances-and he looked different. As if he had been in a fight. The whole town buzzed with questions. One of his friends visited him and asked about the latest project, but Jack said it was "greatly confidential." The neighbors tried to convince him, but he refused. Even the town mayor was denied any details.
Something big was going on. Jack barely stepped out of the house, as though he feared being seen. One day, he received a mysterious parcel. After that, he started meeting everyone he knew in town-as if he was saying his final goodbyes.
But he didn't know one thing: his friend Sam had decided to secretly follow him.
A few days later, Jack boarded a flight to Spain, with Sam not far behind (though Jack had no clue). The flight was long, full of turbulence, bad service, and broken entertainment screens. And to make things more confusing-it landed in France for a layover.
Finally, after six long hours, Jack (and Sam) arrived in Spain.
After a sleepless night, Jack headed for the Hyatt Centric Gran Madrid, a famous meeting spot. Sam wanted to follow, but his conscience got the better of him, so he stayed at the hotel.
Meanwhile, Jack got the directions wrong and ended up spending 100 Euros and over an hour just to reach the venue-late. His boss had trusted him. He had a reputation to protect. He took a deep breath and opened the meeting room door.
Everyone turned toward him, as if they had been waiting just for him. Jack quietly took his seat. The meeting began.
There were important people everywhere-from ministers to governors and presidents from around the globe. Then came a powerful voice over the speaker:
"A very warm welcome to the respected members of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force," said Pedro Sánchez, the Prime Minister of Spain. "We are here to discuss the urgent matter of global peace, without which, there will be no hope for survival in the near future."
Chrystia Freeland, Deputy Prime Minister of Canada, added,
"Peace is the only path forward. Without it, we cannot grow-politically, economically, or culturally."
Jack was confused. Why had he, a detective, been called to a peace summit? The answer came from Yoon Suk Yeol, President of South Korea:
"We have sent detectives all over the world to maintain peace and security. Their role is to help prevent disputes and assist the peace process until these discussions conclude."
Then the Governor of New Jersey, Phil Murphy, raised a question:
"Peace is good, of course. But don't they say, 'Anything in excess is poison'? Even too much peace might be dangerous."
That's when Jack stood up.
"I'm Jack, detective from Agency W," he said. "After centuries of war, we've learned the value of peace. Earth needs peace to survive-whether it's wars, pollution, or disasters. Peace leads to stability and progress. Without it, there is only delay, destruction, and despair."
Everyone nodded in agreement. A final decision was made-to work together to spread peace across the globe. The meeting ended with applause.
Jack flew back to his town-this time with Sam, who had finally confessed to following him. Jack forgave him. He shared the wonderful news with the whole town… and finally decided to rest.
Until his next mission...!
