The Arctic Circle Earth’s Northern Tip

At the northernmost point of Earth lies the Arctic region. It includes the Arctic Ocean and parts of countries like Canada, Russia, Norway, Greenland, Finland, and Sweden. This area covers around 5.4 million square miles and has some fascinating geography.
The name "Arctic" comes from two constellations in the northern sky: Great Bear (Ursa Major) and Little Bear (Ursa Minor). In Greek, "Arctic" means "near the bear." This icy region is covered in snow most of the year. The coldest temperature recorded here was -68°C! Here are some cool facts about the Arctic:
• 10% of the Earth’s fresh water is stored here in the form of ice.
• Animals like polar bears, whales, and seals live in the icy waters.
• The Arctic is rich in fish, natural gas, and minerals.
• A whale called the Gray Whale travels 12,500 miles every year from
the Arctic to Canada and back!
• Around 4 million people live in Arctic regions, including native communities.
