Antoine Lavoisier The Discoverer of Oxygen's Effects

- વિશ્વના વૈજ્ઞાનિઓ

Life has developed on Earth because of the presence of oxygen gas in the atmosphere. Oxygen is also called "Pranvayu" (life-giving air) because it is the basis of life. In addition, various effects and uses of oxygen are well known.

The process of rust forming on metals is also an effect of oxygen. Whenever anything burns, oxygen is required; therefore, oxygen is necessary to produce energy. All these discoveries were made by a scientist named Antoine Lavoisier. Lavoisier laid the foundation of chemistry in the field of science.

Antoine Lavoisier was born on August 26, 1743, into a wealthy family in Paris. He studied chemistry, botany, astronomy, and mathematics at Mazarin College in Paris. In 1768, he earned a place in the French Academy of Sciences.

Lavoisier discovered the effects of oxygen gas. Besides science, Lavoisier was also a student of politics and economics. He used to participate in political activities. In 1794, during the uprising in France, he was branded a rebel and sentenced to death by hanging. He was executed on May 8, 1794. Thus, a great scientist met a tragic end.
