CALCUTTA INDIA
: Indian Nuns from the Missionaries of Charity Order take part in
a prayer to pay homage to Pope John Paul II, in The Mother House
in Calcutta, 03 April 2005. The nuns of the home founded by Mother
Teresa house were joined by some hundred volunteers from the Missionaries
of Charity as they held condolence prayers for the life of Pope
John Paul II. India's president and prime minister joined Catholics
across the country in expressing sorrow over the death of Pope John

SRINAGAR, KASHMIR
INDIA : A Kashmiri fisherman checks his catch inside a Shikara boat
during sunset on Srinagar's Dal lake, 02 April 2005. Kashmiri militant
groups repeated 02 April a threat to attack passengers on a bus
service to be launched 07 April across the divided Kashmir region,
despite a plea from a hardline separtist group to avoid violence.
The threats are not expected to delay the start of the service,
which has been suspended for more than 50 years. The bus, which
will help reunite families separated in the Himalayan region, is
scheduled to operate between Srinagar, the summer capital of Indian
Kashmir and Muzaffarabad, the administrative headquarters of the
