BJP for referring Patent’s bill to parliamentary committee

New Delhi, Mar 22 (PTI) BJP today decided to press for referring the Patent (Amendment) Bill to a Standing Committee of Parliament while asserting that its strategy would not depend on the stand taken by Left Parties on the issue.

"When the Bill is taken up in Parliament, we will press for referring the Bill to the Standing Committee. We will decide our course of action after talking with the Government and the NDA allies," party's Deputy Leader in Lok Sabha V K Malhotra told reporters here after the BJP Parliamentary Party meeting.

The party had yesterday issued a whip to its members to be present in Lok Sabha and vote against it, in the event of a division.
