ICC lifts two-Test ban imposed on Ganguly

NEW DELHI, NOVEMBER 26 (AP)

The International Cricket Council has lifted the two-Test ban it imposed on Indian captain Sourav Ganguly, a senior Indian cricket official said on Friday.

The decision was made after ICC appeals adjudicator Tim Castle of New Zealand held a 3-1/2 hour telephone conference with Ganguly and his representatives.

Ganguly was suspended by ICC match referee Clive Lloyd on November 14 for two Test matches because of India's slow bowling over rate in the previous day's limited-overs international against Pakistan in Kolkata.

Lloyd penalized Ganguly for a violation of the players' code of conduct, in which the skipper is deemed responsible for his team's slow bowling.
