SAD asks BJP to take all allies into confidence over Hindutva issue

CHANDIGARH, NOVEMBER 27 (PTI)

NDA constituent Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today said it was "watching" BJP's reported move to revive the Hindutva agenda and asked the saffron party to take all its allies into confidence over the issue.
The party led by L K Advani should take all the NDA constituents into confidence over the Hindutva issue, the former Punjab Chief Minister and SAD president Parkash Singh Badal told reporters here.
"Sabko saath lekey chalna chahiyeah (They should take all allies along)," he said.
Asked whether the party was planning to review its alliance with the BJP if the saffron party shifted back to Hindutva he said "we are not in a haste." About the RSS' claim that Sikhs were "part" of Hindu community, Badal said "the fact that Sikhs have a separate identity will not change just because RSS or even Advaniji or anybody else says so."
