Sonia Gandhi to visit MauritiusNEW DELHI, NOVEMBER 27 (AGENCIES) Congress President Sonia Gandhi will pay a two-day visit to Mauritius from November 29, marking another milestone in the deepening of fraternal bonds between the two countries. Gandhi is undertaking the visit at the invitation of Mauritian Prime Minister Paul Raymond Berenger to inaugurate the Rajiv Gandhi Science Centre, it was officially stated. She had earlier visited Mauritius in April, 1995 to lay the foundation stone of this centre. The new centre, another landmark of the India-Mauritius friendship, will endeavour to equip the youth with scientific temper and further their understanding of the scientific phenomena. The UPA Chairperson would pay floral tributes at the Samadhi of Seewosagur Ramgoolam, regarded father of the nation, on November 30. The visit comes following a series of high level trips from both sides in recent times, including the one by Berenger to India in November last year. |
