General elections in Pakistan could be held as early as March next year. They are scheduled to be held in 2007.
Reports from Pakistan have indicated that negotiations between the government and the opposition are on.
In this regard, Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf has already had a telephonic conversation with former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharief.
