Feel-good will be really so when farmers feel good: Advani New Delhi, Feb. 19: In the midst of Opposition attack on NDAs "feel-good" claim, Deputy Prime Minister L.K. Advani on Thursday admitted that the farming community does not feel so. "Our government believes there is a good feeling; the feel-good will really be so when the farming community says so. Today, they are not saying so although various sections of the society are saying it," he said here. Advani was addressing a group of farmers from various villages of Haryana who called on him to offer thanks for Cabinet decision to waive Capital Gain Tax and Tax Deduction at Source (TDS) for agriculturists on their land acquired. Noting that the agriculturists were facing some problems, he assured that steps would be taken to address them. The Deputy Prime Minister said the various steps being taken by the government for the farmers benefit were known to agriculture minister Rajnath Singh who regrettably was out of station on Thursday. Advani said a group of farmers had called on him some days ago for relief after which he had talked to Rajnath Singh leading to the Cabinet decision. Interestingly, the farmers group, comprising Hindus and Muslims, were late by more than an hour at their appointment with Advani, keeping the Deputy Prime Minister waiting all the while at his residence.
