horn worth some 150,000 Indian rupees (3100 USD) at the Guwahati city
police headquarters, in Assam state. after Chaudhury was arrested
by police for trying to sell the horn in a local market. A surge in
poaching and demands for organs for traditional medicines is pushing
the Asian rhino to the brink of extinction, conservation group WWF

opening of the Earth Summit which ran from 03 to 14 June 1992. A UN
Earth Summit will take place in Johannesburg 26 August to 04 September,
with up to 50,000 delegates expected to attend along with around 100

CHINA : Young Shaolin novice monks rehearse their moves on stage at
the Tianqiao theatre in Beijing, 18 August 2002, for their upcoming
performance entitled "Shaolin Warriors", produced by the China Performing
Arts Agency together with the monks of the Songshan Shaolin temple.
The group has recently return home after an extensive tour of North
America, showing off the Shaolin martial arts which became known internationally
through the films of late Hong Kong actor Bruce Lee in the 1960s and

militants killed by the Indian army is shown to the press 18 August

Indian troops overnight killed seven Muslim militants near the de
facto India-Pakistan border in Kashmir while they were trying to infiltrate
